U14 Girls
Broadford 3 NCW Town 2
The girls secured three points in dramatic fashion in front of great support at Cove Park last Saturday.
We got off to the perfect start when Ellie finished well from close range after some good work from Amy and Lily. Better was to come from Ellie five minutes later when she rose majestically to head powerfully home Caoimhe’s excellent cross. We continued to pile on the pressure with Amy, Lily and Caoimhe going close and Aoibhin hitting the crossbar. However just before half time NCW showed their danger with a smart quick counter attack which was well finished to leave the score two one at half time.
The second half was a cracking contest between two really strong teams giving it their all. Our backs of Eva May, Aisling, Kayla and Chleo defended admirably and Ellie Mai had to be on hand at times to keep NCW at bay. At the other we continued to create chances with Anna and Aoife going close to getting our third. However with just one minute of play left it seemed we were going to be left disappointed as NCW scored to equalise after a fine team move. Our girls were not to be outdone and straight from the kick off Caoimhe forced a corner. Amy whipped in a pin point ball from the corner which Aoife headed into the top corner to secure our first three points of the season in what was an excellent team performance.
Full match day squad. Ellie Mai O Connor, Eva May Lawlor, Kayla Clancy, Aisling Murphy, Chleo Boyce, Ruth Daly, Jacqueline Leahy Erin Reidy, Caoimhe Quaid, Aoife Liston, Lily Stokes, Amy O Kelly, Aoibhin Noonan, Emma O Kelly, Anna Stack, Ellie Curtin.

U14A Boys
Broadford utd's U14A boys picked up their first 3 points in division 1 with a well deserved victory away to Dromore with goals from Alex O'Connor (x2) and Dylan Conway. Broadford started the brightest playing some excellent football but found the Dromore keeper on top form. Broadford finally got the goal their play deserved on 22 minutes when Taryn O'Connell chased down a lost cause to setup Alex O'Connor who's cross come shot found the back of the net. The keeper then pulled off a string of triple saves to deny the impressive Diarmait Barrett the games second goal leaving it 0-1 at HT.
Broadford continued to play quality football but found the keeper difficult to beat and Dromore were still capable of carving out their own moments but 10 minutes into the second half James Madden found Alex O'Connor in the box who finished the move to double Broadford's advantage. A lose ball at the back was pounced on by Dromore to cut the deficite to 1-2 allowing Dromore back into the game and they were starting to cause problems for Broadford before Dylan Conways long range effort assisted by Alex O'Connor closed out the game for Broadford making it 3-1 to the visitors.
